Costa Rica is a small, mountainous country located in the narrow isthmus of Central America .

It is a land of contrasts and biological diversity which will provide you with wonderful adventures throughout its 51,100 square kilometers (19,700 sq. miles). The country's borders are defined by Nicaragua to the North and Panama to the South.

Even though Costa Rica is a small country, it has a great biological and habitat diversity due to the convergence of two hemispheres, two oceans, and its varying geography.

About 9,000 different kinds of flowering plants, including more than 1,300 species of orchids grow in this country and nearly 850 species of birds have been identified here.Costa Rica is also home to 209 species of mammals, 383 kinds of reptiles and amphibians, about 2,000 species of butterflies and at least 4,500 different types of moths.

Costa Rica is a tropical country which contains several distinct climatic zones. There is no winter or summer as such and most regions have a rainy season from May to November and a dry season from December to April.

Costa Rica is a peaceful society- the national army was banned by the Constitution over fifty years ago.

GEOS Costa Rica is located in San José , near Paseo Colón. We are surrounded by stores, hotels, and restaurants and we are very close to the biggest park in San José : La Sabana.
We have six classrooms and free access to Internet. Students have the option to practice Spanish with Costa Rican students and help them with their English as well.
